Welcome to the memorial page for

Geraldine (Gray) Hogan

December 11, 1937 ~ July 8, 2017 (age 79)

Geraldine Gray Hogan passed away peacefully in her home in Union City, GA on July 8th, 2017. She was born in Gadsden, Alabama on December 11th, 1937.  Her parents were Naomi Smith Gray and John Henry Gray.

At an early age, Geraldine moved to Georgia where she met Charles Dudley Hogan in the little town of Grantville, GA.  At fourteen years old, Geraldine married the only love of her life and God blessed them with four daughters to fill their home with love.  She worked at Porex Technologies for over 10 years and had many other jobs throughout her life.  However, Geraldine’s purpose was not to be spent on a career, but rather her family.  She beamed with love and was always there for her girls.  Later in life she was blessed with grandchildren and loved them with all of her heart.

Geraldine possessed all the characteristics and traits of love. She loved with all of her heart, was always selfless, and saw the beauty in all things and people. Her favorite days were spent with her daughters and grandchildren. She loved to shop (especially at Target for things she didn’t need….), play Rooke, sit on the porch and talk, color, and collect nik-naks.  She also enjoyed watching her grandson, Conner, play baseball. She cheered on every kid. “Hit that ball boy!”  Sugga’s porch and living room were always open to friends, family, and neighbors alike.

Geraldine is survived through her daughters: Teresa McConighen, Marilyn Millians, Brenda Jurjevich, Michelle Touchstone;  grandchildren: Kelsi Claire Nguyen, Evan Conner Touchstone, Stephanie Harmon, Jason Lee, Jody Lee, Tammy Isabel, Timmy Lee, and Theresa Peardon; great-grandchildren: Brianna Marie Baswell (Boo), Austin Harmon, Lydia Harmon, David Blake, Daniel Haynes, Kameron Lee, Megan Turner, Tyler Lee, Chad Lee, Christian Lee, Cooper Lee, Marissa Peardon, Katie Peardon, Chaz Peardon, and Cecily Cothran; great-great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Grace Cox, Tate Manning, and Colby Manning.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dudley Hogan; granddaughter, Sherrie Haynes and great granddaughter Kayleigh Haynes.

Geraldine loved everyone; she had a perfect, tender, and loving heart that will be greatly missed. She is now an Angel watching over us, until we meet again.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.  Visitation will be on Monday, July 10, 2017, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
